Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg just launched his worst attack yet on the National Rifle Association (NRA) in a truly bizarre television appearance.
Ever since last month’s mass shooting in Parkland, Florida, Hogg has become a mainstream media celebrity as he has made the rounds of liberal television shows demanding gun control. Now that interest in him is waning, however, Hogg has resulted into launching increasingly deranged attacks on the NRA and Donald Trump in order to keep himself relevant.
CBS News reported that when Hogg was asked about the NRA’s response to his movement, he held nothing back with his response.
“I think it just goes to prove what exactly they are. I don’t think NRA members are bad people at all,” he said. “I think they’re responsible gun owners that want to become politically active and make their voices heard in this democracy, and I think that’s an excellent thing.”
“I think the problem comes in when it’s people at the top of this organization that don’t listen to their constituents and continue to scare people into buying more guns, creating more violence, so they can scare more people and sell more guns,” he continued. “The people at the top of the NRA are no longer working for the people that are in their organization. They’re working on behalf of the gun lobby.”
He went on to claim that the NRA has been threatening him and his friends.
“The way that they’ve been reaching out to us is basically threatening us,” Hogg said.
“They’ve been instigating things,” his friend Emma Gonzalez added. “And then, when we reply, they like shy back away. They can dish it out but they can’t take it.”
This comes after Hogg boasted that he hung up on Donald Trump’s White House when they tried to invite him to a listening session with the president.
“I actually hung up on the White House the other day,” Hogg said. “They actually called me the day before the listening session and asked if we were going to come, and I said I’m not coming because we expect President Trump to come to the CNN town hall, and I ended on this message with them, I said–we don’t need to listen to President Trump. President Trump needs to listen to the screams of the children and the screams of this nation.”
