Trump Walks In & Salutes H.W.’s Casket, Now Look Where Melania Puts Her Hand

Late on Monday evening, President Donald Trump and his wife paid their respects to former President George H.W. Bush in the U.S. Capitol rotunda. After walking into the solemn room, the president followed proper military protocol by saluting his deceased predecessor. However, a photo of where Melania placed her own hand is going viral.

According to The Daily Caller, President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump entered the Capitol rotunda for approximately 2 minutes on Monday evening, circling the casket of former President George H.W. Bush and staying silent for one minute. Observing proper military protocol, Trump saluted Bush’s casket as Commander-in-Chief.

A picture showing Melania’s sincere reaction has gone viral. In the photo, she stands next to her husband in a somber black coat and matching long gloves, a look of mourning on her face. She gazes at the casket and places her hand over her heart out of respect for the former president.

George H.W. Bush’s casket was placed within the Capitol Monday afternoon in an extensive ceremony featuring speeches from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, House Speaker Paul Ryan, and Vice President Mike Pence. Bush’s children sat around the casket during the ceremony, including former President George W. Bush and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush.

The late president had six children with his wife Barbara: 43rd President George W. Bush, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, author Dorothy Bush Koch, businessmen Neil and Marvin Bush, and Robin, who died of leukemia at just three-years-old.

Barbara passed away in April, leading many to believe that Bush ultimately died of a broken heart. He had been married to the love of his life for 73 years when the former first lady died, and their love story was certainly one for the ages.

Bush’s casket will lie in state within the Capitol Rotunda until Wednesday, atop the same platform used as far back as the funeral of former President Abraham Lincoln. At 10am on Wednesday, Bush’s coffin will depart the U.S. Capitol, which will see him off with another ceremony.

The Bush Family has lost their matriarch and their patriarch in the span of just a few months. Now, the notion that the pair has been reunited with their beloved daughter in Heaven is perhaps all that will bring this family solace.
