Seth Meyers Mocks Americans Killed By Illegals, Now His Show Is In Big Trouble

In a Tuesday night address to the nation, President Donald Trump discussed the ongoing government shutdown over border security, noting the stories of Americans who had been killed by immigrants who crossed the border illegally. These tragic cases ought to elicit only the deepest sympathy, but comedian Seth Meyers responded by mocking them. Now, his show is in big trouble.

In his highly-anticipated address to the nation on Tuesday night, President Donald Trump discussed the brutal murders of several Americans whose lives were ended by someone with no legal right to be in the country. Among those discussed was police officer Ronil Singh, who was killed by an illegal immigrant the day after Christmas, leaving behind a wife and young son.

“America’s heart broke the day after Christmas when a young police officer in California was savagely murdered in cold blood by an illegal alien, just came across the border,” said Trump. “The life of an American hero was stolen by someone who had no right to be in our country. Day after day, precious lives are cut short by those who have violated our borders.”

The president also detailed more gruesome murders, describing the deaths of three other Americans in heartbreaking detail. “In California, an Air Force veteran was raped, murdered, and beaten to death with a hammer by an illegal alien with a long criminal history,” he said.

“In Georgia, an illegal alien was recently charged with murder for killing, beheading, and dismembering his neighbor,” added Trump. “In Maryland, MS-13 gang members who arrived in the United States as unaccompanied minors were arrested and charged last year after viciously stabbing and beating a 16-year-old girl.”

It is difficult for anyone who isn’t a sociopath to hear these tragic stories and not feel broken-hearted for the victims and their families, crushed by the actions of those who should have never been in the country. That’s why the response from comedian Seth Meyers’ show was so unbelievable.

“Late Night with Seth Meyers” caught the ire of many on the internet after the show posted a tweet during President Donald Trump’s Oval Office address that appeared to be mocking the deaths of Americans at the hands of illegal immigrants.

Because of the violent details, the show took to Twitter and joked that Trump had turned his speech into an episode of “Law & Order: SVU.” [Source: IJR]

Predictably, the tweet did not sit well with social media users, who took to Twitter to remind the producers of the show that President Trump was talking about real American lives which were tragically snuffed out too soon; this was not prime material for a joke.

Conservative commentator and Fox News personality Greg Gutfeld tweeted, “just wondering if there was anything less funny than seth meyers – turns out, it’s his twitter feed.”

Todd Starnes wrote, “I know you earn a living by playing make-believe — but try and muster a measure of decency for the families of the dead – you sick fool.”

“As usual they know no bounds… Those murdered by illegals who have multiple felonies and deportations are just a punch line to these lib clowns. Such a disgrace,” echoed Donald Trump Jr.

“I’m sure that’s hysterical to the families of the murder victims the president just discussed,” remarked Megyn Kelly.

Indeed, it is hard to think of anything less funny than the life of an innocent, hard-working American citizen with so much to offer, being taken too soon by a violent criminal whose first act in this country was to break the law by crossing the border.

A word of caution to Seth Meyers and his colleagues: Your popularity is already dwindling by a thread. Think before you tweet.
