Omar Lies To School Kids About Fake Racist Incident, Gets Thrown Under The Bus

Rep. Ilhan Omar told her fabricated story to 400 high schoolers in Minnesota for one purpose: to plant the seeds in those young minds that America is a horrible country filled with injustices toward people of color. The details of her lies were so ridiculous even the leftist media is throwing her under the bus. You’ll love this.

Rep. Ilhan Omar’s lies are catching up to her, and even the Washington Post was forced to expose them. While writing an op-ed titled: “Ilhan Omar’s American story: It’s complicated,” they ran into a big problem. Omar fabricated a story and told it to 400 Minnesota high school kids.

In fact, it’s quite amusing that Ilhan Omar used the well-known book and now movie, “Les Miserables,” as the background of her lie. For those who missed the movie or book, it’s about a destitute French man named Jean Valjean, who during the 1830s is forced to steal a loaf of bread to feed his starving family. He ends up getting 20 years of hard labor.

Now, compare that to Omar’s story she told the Minnesota high school kids.

The Washington Post reports that Omar was speaking to an audience of 400 high school students when she told of visiting a Minneapolis courtroom, where she witnessed a “sweet, old … African American lady” who spent the weekend in jail for stealing a $2 loaf of bread to feed her “starving 5-year-old granddaughter.”

After the woman was fined $80 for the crime, Omar said she couldn’t control her emotions and yelled, “Bulls–t!” in the courtroom.

“Omar’s story echoed the plot of ‘Les Miserables.’ If true, it is also probably embellished,” wrote Washington Post reporters Greg Jaffe and Souad Mekhennet. “City officials said that police aren’t allowed to arrest people for shoplifting unless there’s a likelihood of violence or further crime. Typically, shoplifters are sentenced to attend a three-hour class.”

When the reporters confronted Omar about these details, she said she may have flubbed some facts. The woman convicted of the crime “might have had a prior [arrest],” Omar said. “I’m not sure. . . . The details might not have all matched, but that’s what I remember.”

Weekly Standard’s Mark Hemingway tweeted: “So the Washington Post just all but called Ilhan Omar a lying liar who lies.”

This is not the first time Omar has been caught fabricating to embellish her arguments. The Post also reported on another time Omar misrepresented facts.

“Recently, she told a group of veterans that about 45 percent of military families rely on food stamps,” Jaffe and Mekhennet wrote. “She was trying to make the point that Republicans didn’t care for the troops. The actual number is less than 5 percent, according to Pentagon statistics.”

Just last month, in an attempt to bring attention to a gun control bill, Omar tweeted that 500 people on average are shot and killed every day in the United States.

If true, that would mean 182,000 people are killed by gun deaths in the United States every year. In reality, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported there had been 39,773 deaths related to firearms in 2017, the most recent CDC report available.

That number includes deaths resulting from suicides, homicides, unintentional and undetermined deaths, as well as those from law enforcement. Suicides alone make up 60 percent of the total.

It’s one thing to lie on Capitol Hill, it’s another thing altogether to lie to young minds who are looking at Omar as an authority figure. As an elected representative to Congress. She doesn’t care a bit about fabricating ridiculous stories based on one of the most iconic books ever written.

Going past the lying, you have to ask yourself about her character? Who makes up a story to paint the country who took her in from a refugee camp, and helped pay to get her through college, as a nation of injustice? Minnesota must be so proud of their Congresswoman. We hope this is enough to convince even the staunchest Omar supporters that she is a disgrace who will lie to their kids to score her cheap political points.
